The nonprofit organization, Miracle Swimming for Adults, Inc, headquartered in Sarasota, Fla., announced today, November 12, 2019 that it would cease operations as of December 31, 2019. Founded nine years ago, the nonprofit designed and delivered breakthrough swimming classes to adults with fear in water. Its core mission was to expand those services into underserved communities.

Though it trained over 1500 adults during this period, the organization was unable to attract financial support to fund programs for the underserved. After evaluating many options, the Board determined that at this time, the next step is to dissolve.

CEO Terri Goodman said, “We are confident that the principles of our work will continue and our vision of eliminating adults’ fear in water will be achieved.”
Despite the closure of the nonprofit, licensed instructors will continue to provide services to the national audience that has sustained the Miracle Swimming system since 1983.
